DMCA

In compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), KansasCorner has implemented the following policy regarding copyright infringement. We may, at our sole discretion:

  1. Remove or block access to any material we believe, in good faith, is copyrighted content that has been copied or distributed unlawfully by any of our advertisers, affiliates, content providers, members, or users.
  2. Terminate services for individuals or entities who repeatedly infringe on copyrights.

By using KansasCorner’s services, you agree that your use is always subject to our Terms of Service, which incorporate this Copyright Policy. Any undefined terms herein have the meanings set out in our Terms of Service.

Reporting a Copyright Violation

If you believe that material available on or through our services infringes your copyright (or that of someone you represent), you must send a written notice to our Designated Agent containing the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work(s) claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material that is alleged to be infringing, along with sufficient information to help us locate it.
  4. A statement affirming that you have a good-faith belief the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, their agent, or the law.
  5. Your contact details, including a mailing address, phone number, and (if available) email address.
  6. A declaration, made under penalty of perjury, that the information provided is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Our Designated Agent’s contact details are provided at the end of this policy.

Action Upon Receiving a Valid Notice

Once we receive a complete and valid copyright infringement notice, we may:

  • Remove or disable access to the infringing material.
  • Notify the content provider of the alleged infringement.
  • Terminate the account of repeat offenders.

Filing a Counter-Notice

If you believe that the removed or disabled material was mistakenly targeted or that you have the legal right to post and use it, you may send a counter-notice to our Designated Agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement confirming your good-faith belief that the removal or disabling was due to error or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, phone number, and (if available) email address.
  5. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your judicial district (or, if outside the U.S., in any district where KansasCorner operates) and agreeing to accept service of process from the original complaining party.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may send a copy to the original complainant and, unless they file a legal action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the material within 10–14 business days at our discretion.
